We are delighted that Schola Cantorum, our auditioned Chamber Choir at Oundle have been selected to perform in the Grand Final of the Barnardo’s National Choir Competition.

They are one of just 14 Senior School Choirs in the UK to reach the Final, which will be held at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, one of the world’s finest concert halls, on Tuesday 3 March 2026.

The choir secured their place by submitting two audition pieces: Wild Mountain Thyme, the traditional Scottish/Irish folk song in a choral arrangement by Jacob Ewens, and Angelus ad virginem, arranged by Andrew Carter.

The Barnado’s National Choir Competition is the biggest community and school choir competition in the UK. Finalists will perform before a live audience and a judging panel who will be looking for both musical excellence and creative performance. We wish them all the very best of luck!
