Oundle’s Governing Body consists of up to seventeen members, including eight Governors nominated by the Court of the Grocers’ Company. It maintains a sharp focus on finances and strategic planning, as well as providing wise counsel to the School’s Leadership Team. The Governing Body provides balance between the two schools of Oundle School and Laxton Junior School, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of each are properly taken into account, whilst ensuring it has the interests of the whole Corporation of Oundle School at its heart.

Tim is currently serving his third term on the Governing Body. His first term was as an ex officio Governor, which concluded at the end of his year as Master of the Grocers’ Company (2021-22). Following the conclusion of that term, he was appointed as a Governor and has since completed one appointed term. He is currently serving his second appointed term and his first term as Chair of the Governing Body.

Neil has a distinguished career in education in both the senior and junior school sectors. He has recently retired as Head of St John’s College School, Cambridge following 16 years as a Prep School Head. He has been Chairman of the Choir Schools’ Association for whom he was also Treasurer for many years. Neil has been an inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate for 18 years and a Governor for 20 years in the independent and state sector. He continues to work in the education sector as a consultant.

Suzanna's background is in finance and education, and runs a private tutoring business, working primarily with individuals who have additional learning needs. She was appointed to the Family Bench of the 'Cambridgeshire magistracy' in May 2021. Suzanna is a former parent.

Saskia is an independent education marketing consultant with extensive experience in marketing and school admissions following a career as a strategy director in advertising and television. She has recently completed a Masters in History of Art at the Courtauld Institute.

Ian's background is in the Property and Construction sectors and he is a Fellow of both the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building. He is an Old Oundelian.
Finance
James holds an ex officio membership of the Governing Body in his capacity as Third Warden of the Grocers' Company. He is a commercial barrister specialising in financial services, insurance and reinsurance and other related matters. He is based at 4, Pump Court in London, where he has been for more than 25 years.

Chris is a Director of H L Hutchinson Limited, a leading agricultural advice and supply business. He was until recently the Group Finance Director and Group Company Secretary of Porvair plc, an international manufacturer of specialist filtration, laboratory and environmental technology products. He had previously held a number of senior financial positions at Cable & Wireless. He is a Chartered Accountant and former parent.

James’ background is in property development. He is in his third period as a Governor, after his ex officio membership ended at the end of his term as Master of the Grocers’ Company (2018-19) and having completed two three-year terms as Governor.

Liz has spent 35 years working in boarding schools, including Oundle School, and has recently retired as Senior Deputy Head at The King's School, Canterbury. She has been an inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate for over 15 years, and previously been a governor in the independent and state sectors.
