There are various different ways to visit Oundle and we encourage you to choose the right way, at the right time, for your family.
Ahead of registering your child, we highly recommend that you visit us in person, not just to see the different physical aspects of the School but more importantly to meet the people who shape it. For those families at the start of their admissions journey, attending an Open Day is ideal for getting an initial feel for the School. Most families register two to three years ahead of entry but many apply outside of these time frames, especially at 11+ or 16+.
We will always work with our families openly and honestly with regard to the places we have available and whether Oundle is a good fit for your child. Once you have visited and are registered with us, we shall ensure to keep you apprised of key dates and events, including any relevant scholarship and bursary applications. At all times, the Admissions team is available by email or phone to guide you on individual applications or answer general entry queries.
Our Open Days are held termly on Saturdays, usually in September, February and May. We understand just how precious weekends are, so we limit numbers to ensure we can offer individual tours for all families and meaningful conversations with staff.
An Open Day aims to give families as full an impression as possible of Oundle and our community. The day includes a pupil guided tour of the School and a tour of either a boys’ boarding House, a girls’ boarding House or a day House (as applicable), as well as an opportunity to hear from our Head and to meet other key members of staff. The morning comes to a close with a buffet lunch, following which you have the chance to see a second boarding house.
Upcoming Open Days:
11+ Entry and 16+ Entry
Saturday 15 June 2024
Saturday 20 January 2024
Saturday 11 May 2024
Our individual visits provide a fuller insight into our community and the beautiful market town of which we are an intrinsic part. Families are welcomed by the Registrar before having a tour of the School, including dedicated time with a Housemaster or Housemistress and other members of staff by arrangement. All tours conclude back in the Admissions Office with the Registrar. Families are provided with lunch before or after their visit, depending on the time of day.
To ensure that your visit is as meaningful and informative as possible, please do take the time to give us as much detail as possible about your child so that we can tailor your visit, such as a meeting with the Directors of Music or Sport, or meetings to discuss scholarships and bursaries.
