A team of Oundle pupils has been recognised in the Peter Jones Foundation’s Enterprise Challenge, winning the Tycoon 1K Key Stage 3-4 Winners’ Trophy for their entrepreneurial venture, The Oundle Deck.
The team, comprising Rion, David, Charles, Marcus, Roshan and Sani-Michael, took part in the national programme, which challenges young people to launch and run a real venture, develop their entrepreneurial skills, gain experience in brand building and generate a profit.
Their Oundle-themed playing cards business impressed the judges and secured the award, recognising the team’s creativity, initiative and enterprise skills.
Last week, David, Marcus and Roshan attended the awards ceremony at Twickenham Stadium on behalf of the team, where they received their award from Peter Jones.
Alongside their success in the competition, the team has also committed to donating 30% of its profits to charity.
