The Oundle School Jazz Orchestra had a successful week-long concert tour in France at the start of the summer holidays, entertaining French audiences with toe-tapping popular hits that bridged cultural and language differences.

Both OSJO 1 and 2 performed four open air concerts – two in Normandy, one near La Rochelle and one on Ile de Re. They were supported by local hosts who offered generous hospitality.

The tour was a working holiday with demanding stage set-up and dismantling, as well as the performances, but the itinerary also included opportunities to enjoy the best of France. Excursions took in Arromanches and the Normandy coast, Bayeux and the tapestry, Mont St Michel, La Rochelle Aquarium and St Martin de Re. The Puy du Fou was a well-earned finale to a successful and memorable tour.
