The Lower Sixth Work in Progress exhibition provided an opportunity for pupils from Oundle and Prince William School to share their work from concept to creation, learn more about each other’s techniques, and gather a range of responses to their ongoing artistic practice. For visitors it was a wonderful way to see how young artists develop their ideas.
Sculptor Gigi Salomon led a group workshop for the pupils at the start of the exhibition, giving each pupil the opportunity to receive constructive feedback. The discussion on working practice, materials and purpose was an excellent springboard for future development.
In the evening, Mrs Salomon presented an engaging talk about her working practice to a wider group of fine art pupils and art historians.
