LAXTON JUNIOR SCHOOL

The Sixth Form Lectures are aimed to introduce pupils to different perspectives, new ideas and information, and stories of extraordinary experiences. Previous lectures have covered space missions, supersonic cars, sports journalism, science and suffrage, hairdressing to the homeless, and North Korea.

A Sixth Form concert and a Concept of Remembrance lecture are also held annually, as are memorial lectures in honour of Sir Peter Scott (Sc 1927) and Joseph Needham, (G 1918) two of our most prominent Old Oundelians.

Eminent Speakers

Some notable speakers who have recently visited include Professor Robert Winston, the art dealer Philip Mould, journalist Jonathan Legard, historian Dr Patricia Fara, diplomat Dr David Nabarro (OO), musician and producer Mike Hurst, and Jez Bond (OO), artistic director of the Park Theatre.
