Following competitive selection rounds at district and county cross country races earlier this season, thirteen Oundelians qualified to represent Northamptonshire at the regionals at the Anglian Cross County Championships on February 4th. Over the course of an exciting day, they competed against teams from Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, and all the athletes gave it their very best.

At the county competition in January, Tessa (Sco), Olivia (W) and George (B) were medal winners in their races, and following their finishes at the weekend’s regionals, are also among the pupils who earned places to represent Northamptonshire at national championships.

In March, Tessa (Sco), Isla (Sco) and Georgie (Sco) will compete with the U13 at the National Primary and Year 7 Cross Country Finals at Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire, a great opportunity for them to experience a major cross country event.

Also in March, George (B), Ed (L) and Phoebe (W) will run in the U15, and Olivia (W) and Olivia (L) will run in the U19 girls at the ESAA National Cross Country Championships at Nottingham, the most eagerly anticipated event of the winter for young athletes.
