Upper Sixth Form pupils have received a remarkable 594 offers from Russell Group universities; 76% of all applications made. The most popular universities held as Firm Choice are Durham (28 pupils), Newcastle (19), Edinburgh (13). The most popular degree subjects are History, Business Management, Biological Sciences, Economics and Engineering. Seven pupils will be studying Medicine, including one at Oxford. Beyond UCAS, one pupil will be joining an apprenticeship scheme at Nestle; three pupils will be going on to Art Foundation courses; one pupil was accepted for Music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

This year, even during a pandemic, pupils have also cast their net wide beyond the United Kingdom and explored opportunities abroad. Over one hundred applications were made to top universities in Canada, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA.

In the United States, pupils have confirmed places at New York University, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Lewis and Clark College, University of Virginia, Emory University, George Washington University, Elon University and Cornell University.
