The Theatre department has seen another of its talented actors achieve success in national theatre company auditions. After a highly competitive process, Kitty (K) has been selected for membership in the prestigious National Youth Theatre.

The audition process began with the submission of a taped monologue and personal statement. She was then invited for the second round live digital recall with an auditioner, during which she performed a monologue and answered questions in a one-to-one session. Her successful performances were picked from over 6,000 young hopefuls who auditioned across the country between January and March.

During the summer, Kitty will attend a two-week NYT Intake Course in London with other successful actors, and on completion of the course she will become a NYT company member, and will be able to access a range of performance and talent development opportunities until the age of 26.

Kitty joined Oundle as a Drama Scholar and has been active in productions and workshops at the Stahl Theatre. Last year, she was in the School play, a reinvented version of Dicken’s Christmas Carol, and this year she was in the rollicking gender-bending Kirkeby House performance of Men in Boats.
