Last week, the Design, Engineering & Technology Department was delighted to take a select group of Fourth Form pupils on a bespoke visit to the headquarters of Red Bull Racing in Milton Keynes.
The group enjoyed a truly exceptional behind-the-scenes experience, including the opportunity to watch live practice for the Barcelona Grand Prix from the communications suite. Pupils also received an expert presentation and tour from the Head of Machining, visited the paint shop and component testing laboratories with the Head of Systems, observed engine testing in preparation for future Grands Prix and explored Red Bull Racing’s remarkable collection of historic Formula 1 cars. The day concluded with the chance for the boys to test their skills on one of the team’s professional racing simulators.
This was an outstanding educational experience, providing a fascinating insight into the engineering, innovation and teamwork that underpin success in Formula 1. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our parent community, whose links with Red Bull Racing made this unique opportunity possible.
