The girls in Sanderson are well known for living up to the House motto “Strength of Spirit”. Whether it is inter-House sport or the annual singing competition, they are not afraid to be ambitious.

A BRIEF HISTORY

The House was built in 1938 and is named after one of Oundle’s most renowned former Headmasters: F. W. Sanderson, whose innovations put Oundle at the forefront of science and engineering education, establishing a reputation still renowned today.

What our pupils think

Sanderson girls are busy and active. There is plenty going on at the weekends, from events for individual year groups to those involving activities for several year groups within the House. We have an annual Halloween Party in Sanderson which is great fun and includes games organised by the Upper Sixth as well as being a fancy dress competition for the whole House. We also have an annual Fireworks Night with Dryden House for which we dine ‘al fresco’, toast marshmallows on the fire-pits and watch our own bespoke firework display on Home Close. There is also plenty of opportunity to ‘chill out’ out at the weekends, to enjoy some reading and quiet time, play board games with your friends or perhaps even pop into town for a milkshake at Beans together.
