About the Great Hall

The Great Hall was designed by Arthur Blomfield and originally housed classrooms, the school library, an art museum and a hall. The foundation stone was laid in 1907, and it was formally opened on Speech Day in July 1909.

The south wing houses two lecture halls named after prominent Old Oundelians: the Cecil Lewis Room and the Arthur Marshall Room.

The Great Hall is a landmark in the town and a popular venue for conferences, concerts, lectures and dances. Home to the Admissions office, it is generally the first port of call when prospective families visit Oundle. Visitors to the Head and Admissions are welcome to park directly in front of the building.
