This annual match is held in memory of Thommy Purbrook who was Captain of Girls’ Rugby. Thommy’s life was cut tragically short. Her time at Oundle was marked by her enthusiasm, energy and determination.
The match (Dryden, Laxton and Sanderson v Kirkeby, New House, Sadler and Wyatt) will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday 16 March, and will be the fifteenth iteration, in the 35th year of co-education at Oundle. We would love to see a strong OO turnout, particularly from those who have played in the match before.
The event raises funds for the endowment established by Thommy’s parents in her memory. The endowment fund supports children who, like Thommy, will take full advantage of the academic and extra-curricular opportunities that Oundle has to offer. The fund makes these opportunities available to families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to consider an Oundle education. If you would like to contribute to the fund, donations can be made here
