Oundle Rovers CC will launch their 2026 Beechbrook Capital Cricketer Cup campaign at Oundle on June 14. The Old Wykemists, who last visited Oundle in 1987, will be the opposition. Oundle have played Winchester 8 times in the competition’s 58 year history, winning 4 and losing 4. The other clubs in the Rovers’ section of the draw are Eastbourne and St Edward’s Oxford, with Millfield not far away. The full draw can be found at www.thecricketercup.com.

The Oundle squad will be captained by Will Street (Sc 10) and will include Simon Fernandes (Ldr 18) who has recently been awarded a 2 year full professional contract by the first class county Essex CCC.

The Rovers are supporting the participation of some members of the current girls and boys squads on the upcoming School tour to Sri Lanka. We wish both teams and master in charge of cricket, David Foster, the best of luck on the trip. The Rovers will be watching progress closely, particularly as they are looking forward to welcoming the best of the 2026 School 1st XI leavers into the Cricketer Cup Squad for next season’s campaign.

The Rovers remain only one of three Cricketer Cup sides to have won over 100 Cricketer Cup matches and to have reached  ten or more Cricketer Cup Finals, most recently in 2109 and 2021. They are the third most successful side in the competition’s history sitting ahead of all of the schools on Oundle’s traditional cricket circuit.
