36 intrepid golfers enjoyed a warm round at West Sussex – four others decided to forego the golf and just concentrate on the lunch (!), a sumptuous summer buffet in the West Sussex dining room.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Scoring was impressive despite the tricky, bouncy conditions with only three pairs failing to get a score in the 30s. And it was tight at the top with three pairs contesting second place on 35 points, including the Oundle pair James Aston and William King, but Paul Marciandi and David Hett of Haileybury prevailed on countback.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The winners were Hunter and Pippa Maclean (Glenalmond and The Mount School respectively), just squeaking a victory on 36 points to win the Loretto Trophy, pictured with Andrew Lawson, Loretto, the organiser.<\/p>\n
