LAXTON JUNIOR SCHOOL

A home from home

We are a big School with a big heart and whilst our size may seem daunting initially, it is carefully mitigated by the secure, smaller havens of our Houses, both for boarding and day pupils. Every House is home to those who live and work there, staff and pupils alike. It is a place where everyone can relax, be themselves and feel confident. All boarding and day Houses have rules, which all pupils are asked to live and work by, and these rules enable each House to be a warm, welcoming and harmonious community.

"All pupils belong to a House at Oundle, encouraging a sense of community and family. Pupils eat all of their meals together, with menus in each dining room reflecting each House’s preferences."
Mr Johnny Hammond-Chambers, Housemaster

Boarding and day

The Oundle School community comprises approximately 75% full boarding pupils and 25% day pupils. We are a School with a full boarding ethos and this is one of the greatest strengths of Oundle. For boarders, this offers a wealth of opportunity across a seven-day week, with a full and varied weekend programme throughout term time. For day pupils, this breadth of opportunity both within and beyond the School day greatly enriches their experience and gives them access to a boarding-style education whilst returning home each night.

Our Houses

Our full boarding model ensures that every House is a vibrant community every day of the week, with plenty of opportunity for social activities both within the House and the wider School.
