Barbara Rawcliffe’s practice looks at the emotional response of life in a rapidly growing global world facing an environmental crisis. Her work is inspired by a group of women artists who investigate and explore the use of cloth and thread as a contemporary medium. She creates hangings that have been dyed and stitched using natural and found materials.
