We are seeking an experienced Rowing Coach to work, on a casual basis, within the sports department, to provide a high calibre of coaching sessions to our pupils.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning engaging and meaningful training sessions, that demonstrate appropriate technique, by using a range of learning styles to encourage learning as well as remaining age and ability appropriate. It is important the right person uses a multitude of approaches to ensure equal opportunities for all pupils. The Coach will enable the pupil’s performance in training and matches through group coaching and where appropriate 1:1 advice. If you were to be successful, you would need to commit to being an exemplary role model to our pupils by maintaining a high level of professional conduct and personal presentation. It is important that the person cooperates with the School on any health and safety matters and responds to any pupil injury or illness in line with school policies. In addition to the above, there will be an element of administration which includes uploading timesheets and liaising with the group/ squad about training plans. In order to be successful in this role you will need to have good written and verbal communication skills in order to support a wide range of participants with differing skills and abilities. It is important that you are able to work using your own initiative as well as working as part of a team. You will need to have experience of working with and teaching children and be able to demonstrate sound numeracy and literacy skills. It is essential that you possess a relevant coaching qualification.
The role is to work 9 hours per week, on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday afternoons, for 33 weeks (term time) at a rate of £29.80 per hour.
THE SCHOOL
