An exciting opportunity exists for a customer focused, professional Fitness Instructor to join our friendly team at our Sports Centre.

THE ROLE

As a qualified Fitness Instructor, you will be the first point of contact and a key individual in the front line delivery of our fitness programme, directly involved in the following:

  • Ensuring the health and safety of all users of the fitness studio, from induction to exercise correction, whilst engaging and motivating new and existing customers to develop their goals;
  • Writing, developing, delivering and reviewing fun and varied fitness programmes, ideally with involvement in the Group Exercise program, aiding the Centre’s retention plan.

As an independent centre we are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individuals with a wide variety of communication skills and desire to support people at all levels. The successful applicant must demonstrate their initiative and flare to develop and deliver an engaging fitness programme within the fitness studio. While a REP’s Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) is essential for this role, our Fitness Instructors are efficiently trained to set tailor made programmes around the needs of the individual and provide the highest levels of customer care.

Hours of work: 20 hours per week. The shift pattern will include a mixture of mornings, evenings and weekends and there is an extended opportunity to pick up personal training.

Salary: £11,897 (FTE £23,795)

THE SCHOOL AND THE CENTRE

Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. The Schools take seriously their responsibility to pupils so that they can emerge as decent, open-minded adults; ambitious about what they can go on to achieve and contribute. As well as providing new and improved facilities for the School’s pupils, the new Sports Centre facility has been designed to allow increased access to local residents, sports clubs and Schools. After accommodating the educational and social demands of the pupils the School is eager to develop wider access to the Centre and encourages participation by local community in a range of Sports and Leisure activities organised and managed by the Centre’s staff.

Our State of the Art Sports Centre offers a wide range of classes, fitness facilities and activities on a commercial basis, as well as numerous courses, children’s holiday clubs and organised parties.
