Netball is a major sport for girls in the Lent Term. Most girls in the Third and Fourth Forms play the sport, and block fixtures can often involve eight teams from these years. Netball continues to be a popular and successful sport in the senior years, with over fifty girls opting for the sport. There are twelve outdoor courts and one indoor court.
Block fixtures involving up to sixteen teams ensure that a large number of girls have the opportunity to represent the School at a wide range of levels. The matches are played in a very competitive, but sporting spirit, and in recent seasons some senior matches have resulted in close finishes with over seventy goals scored.
Each year in February, Oundle hosts an Invitation U18 Netball Tournament with ten schools taking part, including Uppingham, Oakham and Rugby. This tournament has become a traditional event in the fixtures calendar.
Head of Netball, Mrs Bev Burnham has been awarded East Midlands Regional Coach of the Year, and is Head Coach of the Northamptonshire County Excel Academy.
