Learning for Life is a whole school approach that aims to help pupils develop good character, make wise choices and prepare them for life after Oundle.
At Oundle, Learning for Life is provided through a wide variety of channels. It is taught as lessons to First through Fourth Forms and is delivered as lectures to the Fifth and Sixth Forms.
Alongside lessons, pupils engage in activities such as workshops, theatre productions, health fayres and drop-in sessions where it is easier for relevant issues to be discussed. A variety of different topics are taught and discussed by pupils throughout their time at Oundle, such as issues of consent, gambling, pornography, healthy eating, and social media. There is also a focus on character education where pupils discuss and learn about how to develop grit, zest, intellectual curiosity and self-control. Our assembly programme focuses predominantly on encouraging these characteristics.
