Our aim is to create an environment where we support all pupils’ hockey journeys, no matter what their ambitions are in the sport.

Oundle raises over 20 girls and 15 boys teams from U14 to U18 that compete with the very best sporting schools in the country. Girls play hockey in the first Term, and the boys in the second. Every pupil experiences excellent coaching from both internal and external coaches, many of whom have national and international experience.

Oundle regularly competes at regional and national level in cup competitions; in 2015 both the U14 and U16 sides made the National Finals at the Olympic Park in London.

A number of pupils take part in the County and National Pathway, and a number have gone on to play at junior international level.

After leaving school, many continue to play and contribute to their university teams, with some playing for national league clubs here and overseas.

Past overseas tours have been to South Africa, South America and Australasia, and teams regularly go on short UK trips.

Head of Hockey Grahame Mansell-Grace has over 25 years of coaching experience working at international level with GB, England and Wales across all age groups and with top national league teams. He currently works as part of the Women Performance Programme at Loughborough University and is an FIH Coach Educator and EHF Coach Mentor.
