Football is played competitively in the Lent Term. The club incorporates two teams at Junior Colts and Colts level, and four teams at Seniors.

Fixtures are held against schools such as Bedford, Oakham, Uppingham, Loughborough Grammar, Prince William School and The Perse. Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, with most fixtures taking place on Saturday afternoons.

There are opportunities for those wishing to play in the 1st XI and 2nd XI teams to join regular Monday night training and development sessions throughout the Michaelmas Term. Junior players can join the Thursday afternoon football Vol in the Michaelmas Term. We encourage pupils to play in their own time, and there are often informal leagues taking place in the Sports Hall on Friday evenings. More widely, the inter-house football tournament is a highly competitive series of fixtures occurring in the Lent Term where Houses get a chance to show off their skills for the House cup.

The School has run tours and pre-season training trips to the USA and Spain in recent years. An international trip for the Seniors runs every two years.
