Specimen papers for entrance and scholarship examinations are available to download in this section. Please read our practical Science Skills Guidelines for 11+ and 13+ papers.
From 2015 entry onwards, our Junior Entrance papers have changed. The English and Mathematics papers remain one hour papers but contain fewer scholarship type questions. Instead there are more questions to discriminate ability around our pass mark. The Mathematics paper no longer has a Section B and calculators are no longer required or allowed. Specimen papers are available below.
Academic scholarship nominations are no longer made prior to the examinations, but we invite pupils who have performed well in the English and Mathematics papers to sit the scholarship paper on the Saturday afternoon. The scholarship paper is made up of a 30 minute section of Mathematics problems and a 30 minute section of English comprehension.
