Oundle School Foundation:
Annual Fund
Download
Annual Fund Appeal Form
The Annual Fund is the mechanism by which parents can assist the development of Oundle School in an immediate way. Through a small and regular annual gift to the Fund you can ensure that a whole range of important extracurricular projects can be achieved within a twelve month period.
The Annual Fund is essential to the future development of the School, providing money for smaller projects which can be achieved within a reasonable time. In this way, your children can benefit during their lifetime at Oundle from all that the Annual Fund can bring. The projects selected are diverse in nature and fall outside the sphere of what the School is able to provide from its routine expenditure budget.
If you make a donation you will enhance and broaden the lives and development of Oundle’s pupils giving them the widest possible range of opportunities during their time at the School.
You will help to benefit the whole School community, now and in the future, by providing even better resources.
Help us to provide opportunities now which will transform young lives long into the future.
Help yourself by taking advantage of the Gift Aid scheme to increase the value of your gift to us by 28%.
Our projects for 2009/10
The Library
This year we begin a major redesign and updating of the Cripps Library. Within
this major project there are several smaller
projects which we hope you might like to support.
Display cases for School treasures
• Local History – the existing comprehensive collection
of books about the town and local area will provide
an indispensable source for local historians.
£5,000
• Rare Books - include a Cranmer bible, a 15th century
Book of Hours and first editions of John Clare to be
conserved whilst allowing access for educational purposes
£5,000
• Archaeology – artefacts of archaeological interest,
found at local sites and further afield will be displayed
£5,000
• Greek Pots – this wonderful collection will be
showcased in the Periodical Room
£5,000
Other projects
• A Weather Station: would collect data on temperature, wind speed,
humidity, air pressure and rainfall. The updated
information would be widely available for pupils to access and data will link
with software allowing the mapping of weather
conditions over time. This purchase will greatly assist pupil understanding
of our daily weather.
£1,000
• Six Road Bikes: Road cycling is offered as a sport in the Trinity
Quarter. There are a number of enthusiasts but equipment is not available
for those who want to try out the sport. Additional bikes enable more trips,
as well as making cyclists competitive in local club events.
£3,000
• Modern Languages Essay Competition: A prize will be given to allow
Spanish specialists (or studying subjects relevant to the trip such as History,
Geography or Politics) to participate in a visit to Cuba with a member of
staff. The winners will be chosen on merit by means of an essay competition
£8,000
• Bursaries: Every year there is an urgent need to provide bursary support
for current pupils whose parents are unexpectedly financially over-stretched
and whose children may have to leave the School. Our aim is to raise sufficient
funds to make a difference for one or more emergency bursaries for an existing
pupil.
£8,000
Previous Projects
Last year, helped by the considerable success of events such as the Midsummer Ball, the Annual Fund achieved its target and more. The School is enormously grateful to parents for the tremendous support received.
All the projects in last year’s Annual Fund are now fully funded and amongst the purchases made last year were a new set of ‘Twickenham’ rugby posts for the Two Acre, steel pans for the Music Department and a rotary evaporator for the Chemistry Department.
