Sanderson was designed by the distinguished Architect W.A. Forsyth and built in 1938. It is named after F.W. Sanderson who was Headmaster from 1901-22 and described by H.G.Wells as '"The greatest Headmaster the world has ever seen". Sanderson converted to a Girls' House in 2000 and continues to thrive. The House colour is lilac.
David Turner teaches and writes text-books about Mathematics and coaches Athletics. He joined Oundle in 1988. His wife Melissa teaches at Oundle and plays a significant role in the House. She tutors in Sanderson, examines Geography and coaches Tennis. He coaches Athletics and is interested in all sports, travel, music, world cinema, gardening and Nottingham Forest F.C.
The Housemaster's Assistant and resident in Sanderson is Miss Laura Burden (English, Hockey & CCF). Other Tutors are: Miss Sarah Davidson (Head of Modern Languages); Mr Cowley (Rowing coach);Mr Lowndes (Design and Technology, Head of Sailing)); Dr Ben Meisner (Mathematics, Assistant Director of Studies); Mr Stephen Johnson (German, Community Action, Choral Singing).
