Kirkeby was built in 1990 to accommodate Oundle's first girl boarders. The House takes its name from Joan Kirkeby, the wife of Sir William Laxton who endowed and refounded the School in 1556. It is situated on Pavilion Drive, surrounded by playing fields, and linked to Wyatt House and the School Sanatorium. The House has capacity for a maximum of 65 girls between the ages of 13 and 18. The accommodation includes studies and dormitories for the Third and Fourth Forms and bedsits for the senior year groups, and there are also a number of spacious common areas.
Mrs Meisner is married with three children. She has taught Religious Studies at Oundle since 1996 and has been Head of the Religious Studies Department and the Careers Department. Her husband is Assistant Director of Studies at Oundle and teaches Mathematics. She has spent time in Zimbabwe and Italy and enjoys maintaining contact with both.
The House is assisted by its team of seven Tutors: Mlle Deliancourt (French Assistant); Miss Goatly (P.E.); Miss Israel (Science); Mr Oddie (Head of Art); Dr Pemberton (Biology); Miss Pontifex, Resident Deputy Housemistress (Art); Mr Raudnitz (English); and Dr Rowe (Head of Biology).
