As one of the four field Houses, Fisher House overlooks the playing fields to the rear, and is next door to the swimming pool and sports hall. Founded as Laxton House in 1869, the House was renamed in 2001 after the former Headmaster Kenneth Fisher. The house accommodates approximately 60 boys from 13 - 18 in bedsits containing four boys per room for third formers reducing to single rooms in later years.
Mr Wood has taught English at Oundle since 1995, and became Housemaster of Fisher in 2002. He is married and his wife is a member of the administrative staff of the School. He coaches cricket and is involved in rugby and football, and is interested in green issues and natural history, especially birdwatching. He also enjoys travel, reading, films, quizzes and Arsenal FC.
In addition to Mr Wood the House has a team of seven tutors: Mr Court (English,
Sport); Mr Dayment (D & T, Duke of Edinburgh); Dr Dyer (Psychology, Football);
Mr Evans (Head of Chemistry, Badminton); Mr Milsted (Music, Head of Woodwind)
the Deputy Housemaster; Mr Hamshaw (Head of Mathematics); and Mr Rohrborn
(Modern Languages, Economics, Athletics, Film Society).
