Charity Holiday work praised
At St James's Palace on Wednesday 18th May, 2005, HRH Princess Alexandra presented Oundle School with a certificate to acknowledge the support given by the School over the past twenty years to the Children's Country Holiday Fund (CCHF). Oundle hosted at least fifteen holidays for inner city children who would not otherwise have had the chance to go away each summer, and a large number of Oundelians were involved over the years. Dr Bob Klaber (G, 94) ran a good many of the summer camps, and any Old Oundelians who were involved in the CCHF projects are asked to contact him at bobklaber@hotmail.com.
Sadly, health and safely regulations saw the end of CCHF camps at Oundle about four years ago, but Bob Klaber and many others continue supporting the CCHF by raising money for the charity, for example by running in the London Marathon, and they intend to formalise this support through the OO Club and by encouraging Oundle sixth formers to volunteer as helpers on CCHF national camps.
