Industry Visits

The Sanderson Trust arranges a programme of half-day visits to a wide range of industries, open to all Fifth and Sixth Formers, covering everything from Food Production to Hi-Tech Research and Development. Each trip offers up to sixteen pupils the opportunity to see at first hand how industry operates. Transport is by School minibus and visits are programmed to minimize the impact on academic activities. There is no charge for these visits, which take place during the Michaelmas, Christmas and Easter Quarters. Last year 163 pupil visits took place. Pupils attending more than five visits will receive a Certificate of Participation. Hsms and Tutors are informed of the visits undertaken by their pupils which count towards Arts Exhibitions.

These visits are open to all pupils interested in a future in the wealth-creating sector of the economy, particularly those thinking of studying science subjects at A level or university. Some visits are specifically programmed to complement particular teaching activities. All pupils studying Science or Design/Technology must attend at least one visit and preferably gain a Certificate of Participation (after five visits).

For any further information, please contact Mr Barry Rutter.
