Oxbridge Applications
Master in Charge of Oxbridge: Dr. M.J. Bessent
The Master in Charge of Oxbridge is responsible for offering general advice to all candidates on topics such as choosing colleges and completing the application forms. In particular he organises the Oxbridge Conference, which this year will be held on Friday 7th March. This is attended by admissions tutors from Oxford and Cambridge as well as a range of undergraduates from both universities. They give talks to the Lower Sixth and there is then an opportunity for pupils to ask questions.
Research
In addition to the University websites (www.ox.ac.uk and www.cam.ac.uk), Colleges have their own sites, and it is important to research thoroughly.
Preparation
Pupils should attend regular meetings with the relevant Departmental Oxbridge
representative (See list below). These will include discussion about extra
reading or research, as well as advice on choosing colleges, interview technique
and practice for any pre-tests that may be necessary. It is essential that
candidates take responsibility for finding out what pre-tests are required
for their course. The university websites give a great deal of advice on this
front, and usually have practice papers available to download:

Mock Interviews
In November or early December of their Upper Sixth year all candidates will be offered the opportunity of at least one mock interview, usually with somebody that they have never met. These are arranged through the master i/c Oxbridge.
