Sports Instructor / Recreational Assistant

£18,832.32 per annum
70 hours over a two week rota, 52 weeks

The role will include water polo coaching alongside the Head of Swimming, instructing Swim School lessons and Instructor cover if required for Oundle School, adult and child lessons and County School lessons.

Recreational Assistant duties will also include front of house customer contact, administration, bookings and pool lifeguarding.  As the Swimming Pool is run by a close network of staff, flexibility to cover shifts due to sickness, training and galas is required.

Applicants must be an ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher and hold a valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification.  Water polo experience is an advantage, although not essential a keen interest is required. 

The current requirement is to work for five hours per week as an Instructor and 30 hours per week as Recreational Assistant.  The basic salary of £18,832.32 is calculated on this working pattern.  This may be reviewed and enhanced if the requirement for Instructors is increased or the candidate can offer additional skills to the current programme

Example shifts during term time: Mondays  1.15pm-6pm / Tuesdays 2.00pm-10.30pm / Wednesday Off  / Thursdays 10.15am-6.00pm / Fridays 6.00am-9.00am (alternate weeks) / Saturdays 8.15am-5.00pm  / Sundays 10.00am-9.00pm (alternate weeks)

Recreational Assistant

£16,835.32
70 hours over a two week rota, 52 weeks

To provide a high level of customer service for all users of the Sports Hall and Swimming Pool complex, through answering all enquiries in an efficient, polite manner and ensuring the smooth running of the complex, with provision of the lifeguard and Duty Officer service for all users. To supervise pupils and customers undertaking leisure activities, maintaining the required standards of health and safety, cleaning and security.   As the Duty Officer if required, to take the lead in dealing with users, emergencies and general activities ensuring the line manager is advised of any issues at the earliest convenience.

Applicants must be hold a valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification. 

The hours of work are 70 over a two week rota, Hours to be arranged with the Swimming Pool Manager but predominantly evening and weekends.

Example shifts during term time:

Mondays 3.30pm -10.30pm / Tuesdays 4.45pm -10.30pm / Wednesday 4.45pm-10.30pm / Thursdays 5.00pm -10.30pm (alternate weeks) / Fridays Off / Saturdays 5.30am-2.30pm  / Sundays 9.30am-7.30pm (alternate weeks)

Domestic Assistants

Minimum £6.85 ph / Saturday rate £11.42 ph
36.4 or 41.4 working weeks

Domestic Assistants are required to clean and tidy boarding house accommodation, offices, departments, classrooms and some private accommodation.  Duties include providing first class domestic care, laundry and/or sewing services.

Applicants must be able to to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, detail-conscious and hard working and reliable. Experience working in a domestic capacity and awareness of health and safety in the workplace are an advantage, but not essential.  The role requires the use of stairs and carrying/using electrical equipment on a regular basis.

A variety of part-time roles are available, predominantly working Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday 9:30am – 12:30pm either 36.4 working weeks (40.77 paid weeks) or 41.4 working weeks (46.38 paid weeks). Some afternoon hours from 1pm – 2:30pm are available, and Saturday only working will be considered.

Gardener/Groundstaff

£17738.76 per annum
40 hpw, 52 weeks

Oundle School are recruiting a Gardener/Groundstaff to enhance the Grounds and Gardens team in preparing and maintaining our finely manicured lawns, gardens, extensive grounds and first class sports surfaces.  The work is challenging but rewarding, giving a sense of pride, which is evident throughout the School grounds. 

Applicants must have working experience of using light equipment and machinery used in grounds and garden maintenance, be able to work outdoors in all seasons, and be able to carry out manual work including working at height.  Formal gardening or grounds maintenance experience and / or relevant qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.

Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 7.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.  This includes one paid 30 minute break and one unpaid 30 minute break.  In addition you will be required to work outside of these hours (evenings or weekends) for which compensating payment will be given.

General Catering Assistants

£8.22 per hour
36.4 working weeks, various full and part time roles available.

Oundle School are looking for General Catering Assistants to provide a catering service of the highest standard for pupils, staff and visitors within the School.  The role focuses on food service, customer care, and basic food preparation, with cleaning duties.

Various full and part-time roles are available, working 36.4 weeks per annum.  The working pattern for most Catering staff is organised over a two week rota, with every other weekend off.  For full time roles some split shifts are required.  

Experience and a good knowledge of food service procedure and equipment, basic food preparation, basic knowledge of COSHH, good communication skills and the ability to take and follow instructions are required.

Kitchen Porter

£15,630.99 per annum
80 hours over a two week rota, 41.4 working weeks

The Kitchen Porter role focuses on basic food preparation whilst assisting the Chefs to maintain a clean and tidy working area by completing basic food preparation, distribution and rotation of stock within the outlet area and general cleaning duties.

The ability to take and follow instructions, experience following safe working procedures, a basic understanding of COSHH and safe manual handling procedures and knowledge of basic food preparation are essential.
