Senior School Options

Well before the final year of the Junior School (Year 6), parents will begin to consider their child’s options for senior schooling. Parents are given an indication of their most realistic options by the School during Year 5, which helps in the decision making process.

The range of local Independent senior schools is quite diverse. Therefore, we invite them to present to our Years 3 to 5 parents during the Michaelmas term. This provides our parents with an opportunity to find out more about the individual senior school and ask pertinent questions before deciding on a school visit.

Parents are encouraged to make individual appointments to discuss their options with the Head, Mark Potter, or the Deputy, Janet Bass, before deciding upon which school they should apply to for admission.

Once a decision has been reached, it is the responsibility of the parents to register their child for entry into their chosen senior school. Even though Laxton Junior shares its foundation with Oundle School, it is still a requirement that its pupils be registered for Laxton or Oundle by their parents.
