Laxton Junior

Headteacher: Mr Mark Potter

Founded in 1973, Laxton Junior School moved from its original premises in North Street to its current location in September 2002. This purpose-built school was completed after the decision to expand was made by the Governing Body of Oundle School. The School aims to provide the best possible primary education in the area.

Laxton Junior School can accommodate 280 children from 4 to 11 years. There is a two-form entry, with a maximum of twenty children in each form. For some areas of the curriculum, group sizes are even smaller. Most children enter the School in the September after they are four years old on a non-selective admissions list basis, although all children entering the School are assessed in order to establish their current abilities and aptitudes.

A very well qualified team of enthusiastic teachers and support staff completes the picture, and the caring, family ethos of our School has been maintained in the transfer to new accommodation. Again, we are very fortunate to have appointed new members of staff during our expansion who have quickly fostered the same set of values engendered by the existing staff.
