Well over 50 boys and girls take part in cross country games sessions, supervised by half a dozen dedicated members of staff. The strength in numbers has enabled us to provide two representative girls teams and two boys teams for the majority of our matches, where large numbers are permitted.

Training includes challenging hill courses, flat or track work, a longer run on Thursday, and fixtures or a local run for the non-squad runners on Saturday.

Oundle forms part of the competitive East Midlands league, which includes the main independent schools of the area and provides weekly fixtures. We also compete further afield in the South East Schools competition at Harrow, the Knole Run at Sevenoaks and the Midlands and Northern Independent Schools Cross Country Championship. Every year talented runners compete individually, representing Oundle School and their county, successfully qualifying through District, County, Regional and National level cross-country events.

The Cross Country Club also organises two major all-school events: the Gale Mile and the School Cross Country, in addition to hosting an invitation relays event during the OO weekend.
