OO Network

The OO Network is a bespoke online networking platform enabling Old Oundelians to find and connect with fellow members of the OO Community in a trusted environment. The platform provides the opportunity to grow your professional and personal contacts, connect with others in similar regions or industries to develop your career, or seek guidance. There is a dedicated mentoring hub for OOs to indicate whether they are seeking guidance or are able to act as a mentor to others in the OO Community as well as the ability for job opportunities to be posted.

Networking Events

Under the aegis of the OO Club, the Society holds “Drinks and Links” to provide informal networking opportunities to Old Oundelians. Each event focuses on a particular industry, such as recruitment, law, property and so on, extending to any profession for which there is demand – and a willing coordinator!

LinkedIn

It is easy to connect with fellow Old Oundelians on LinkedIn by including Oundle School in the education settings on your LinkedIn profile. All OOs who have included Oundle School in their education settings will appear in the searchable ‘Alumni’ section of the School LinkedIn page. You can also follow the School should you wish to keep up to date with School news in your feed.

Offering Career Advice

The Careers Department works with the Oundle Society, drawing on our vast and diverse network of contacts within a wide variety of industries. Our joint aim is to provide pupils with opportunities for work experience placements and careers advice from professionals.

Work experience placements give pupils an invaluable insight into potential future careers. In the current highly competitive market, both for university places and employment, work experience is vital. It provides an opportunity to develop skills and apply academic learning beyond the classroom. Work experience placements are now a prerequisite for a number of degree courses and are increasingly being referred to at interview and on UCAS personal statements.

We would be delighted to hear if you or your organisation if are prepared to:

  1. Offer work experience placements (anything from one day to two weeks).
  2. Offer careers advice by telephone, e-mail or in person.
  3. Attend careers events at the School.

Any offers of help are most gratefully received. Your details would be added to the Careers Department database and matched to individual pupils’ enquiries.
